CHRIS GIDDES
Contributor- Master Educator Chris teaches Social Studies at Metuchen High School, in Metuchen, NJ. He has been teaching A.P. U.S. History and Personal Finance for many years. He is involved in numerous curriculum development teams as well as mentoring youth in his school, Chris has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Rutgers University and completed his teaching certification through Kean University. Chris joined the curriculum development team at DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation in 2015. He has been teaching Personal Finance since its inception in NJ and enjoys creating the necessary connections between course content and students’ real-world experiences. He brings his personal experience to DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation and is excited to enhance the learning experience for personal finance students of the future through his contributions. |
JOHN DUDLEY
Contributor - Master Educator John retired after 26 years of teaching at Newark Public Schools, Newark NJ where he taught diverse student populations and developed East Side High Schools Financial Literacy Education programs. He also coached boys lacross for more than 15 years. John has dual masters Degree's in Educational Leadership from University of Phoenix and in Addction Prevention and Treatment from Farliegh Dickenson University as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from Kean University. John was a driving force behind East Side High Schools' financial literacy education program and a respected expert speaker and attendee at JumpStart Coalition for Personal Finance Annual National Financial Literacy Educators Conference where he came to the attention of the Foundation. |
ELAINE MURRAY
Contributor - Master Educator Elaine has worked as a high school Business Education Teacher for the past 18 years at John F. Kennedy Memorial High School in Woodbridge Township, NJ teaching Financial Literacy and Business Management. She is an enthusiastic educator with a passion for student development and has extensive business education instruction experience. She has chaired in the creation of numerous business education curriculums and been involved in teaching personal finance since its inception in NJ. Prior to becoming an educator, she worked for 15 years in the insurance industry as a property and casualty underwriter. Elaine joined the curriculum development team at DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation in 2015. She also serves as the treasurer for the high school where she monitors financial activities and details, such as cash flow and reserve levels, as well as analyzes the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed. Elaine is Chair and Co-chair of curricular rewrites for the Township of Woodbridge, as well as the Treasurer of JFK High School for the past 10 years. |
JACQUELINE NYERS
Contributor - Master Educator Jacqueline has worked as a high school Business Education Teacher at Colonia High School in Colonia, NJ teaching Financial Literacy and Business Management. She is a passionate educator with a dedication to creating valuable learning opportunities with extensive business education instruction experience. Jacqueline has a degree In Business and Technology from Seton Hall University. Jacqueline joined the curriculum development team in at DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation in 2015 and has been an outstanding team member helping to focus on real world active learning experiences. She has been deeply involved in the development of FitKit and FitKit Express curriculum that targets building financial literacy in women. |
WILLIAM SCHLAVIS
Contributor- Master Educator William has worked as a high school Social Studies teacher for 13 years 6 at Metuchen High School, 7 at Tenafly in NJ. He has been teaching U.S. History and European History (A.P. and College Prep) and Personal Finance since its inception in NJ. William an insightful educator and is also involved in the school's athletics program as a coach. William has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from New York University. William was excited about joining our curriculum development team at DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation in 2017 and has been directly involved with curriculum and most especially video development for the FitKit Programs. His passion for video scripting and directing has helped the Foundation introduce the compelling peer to peer video content to the curriculum. |
