About the Program
DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation’s mission is to prepare today’s students and the greater community for a lifetime of financial responsibility. At the center of our FitKit™ financial literacy initiatives is the Personal Finance Certification program, a groundbreaking innovation in personal financial education for college, high school, and middle school students.
The goal of the program is simple: help students graduate as financially capable young adults. Participating colleges, high schools, and middle schools that offer our FitKit™ programs, or another personal finance course, and then administer our standardized financial literacy certification test are eligible to apply.
To support instruction, we provide a detailed curriculum, pre/post and unit assessments, PowerPoint presentations, and original video content aligned with national and state standards.

Earning a Certificate
DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation will award its personal finance certificate to high school and college students who complete the FitKit™ course and take the standardized financial literacy certification test. Students who score 90% or greater on the test will receive the Personal Finance Mastery certificate, while those who score below 90% will receive the Personal Finance Literate certificate. The certificates demonstrate that students have acquired the knowledge and skills to be financially fit. Teachers and schools are also recognized with certificates based on students’ performance.
Pathways to Personal Finance
Middle school students who complete the FitKit™ Middle School 8-hour course with a score of 85% or better are eligible to receive our Pathways to Personal Finance certificate, which acknowledges they are on the path to becoming financially fit. Teachers and schools are also recognized with certificates based on students’ performance.
Certificates are available within the FitKit™ online platform and are available upon request to educators utilizing FitKit™ High School or FitKit™ Middle School for acknowledgement of student achievement within the classroom.
Educators not teaching the FitKit™ programs can request the FitKit™ Personal Finance Test to administer to their students and receive certificates for distribution.
